All I see is how everyone dislikes it but Washington still wants to cram it in our face.

Certain discussions have been moved to the group settings.

Hello for privacy reasons some discussions such as P.R. and policy have been moved into the groups section. This enables us to share our ideas with other farm bureau members as the groups are limited to folks we invite to them or ask to be in them. Hope you all get adjusted well and let me know as the site is a constant work in progress.

Property Tax Caps

I am sure you have all have heard the tax caps are unfair. Do you really know what that could mean to you? It means that if you have for an example 500,000 dollars in Equipment(this includes grain bins, buildings) and you are currently being taxed $5,000, that under the new law you could go up to paying $15,000 while a homeowner with a 500,000 house their taxes would stay the same as they currently. This is terrible for agriculture and it would be permanent b/c they are trying to place it in… Continue

Prop 2-A vote yes was voting against animals kept in confined housing. It passed 63% to 37%

I know in Califonia they have already voted but its just a matter of time before its an issue in the midwest. I hate to paint doom and gloom but unless we beat the people that what animals kept outdoors to this it will all but shut down agriculture. Take a look on youtube search prop 2 and notice how there are hundreds of videos urging people a vote yes on prop 2 that it is the "christian thing" to do, or the right thing to do this what they are sellling. They also want to refer to the video's… Continue

Delegate Session

Just wanted to highlight a couple quick items from the delegate session. There were two isssues that took up a lot of time in debate and those are river maintenance and migrant workers. IFB is going to write white papers on these topics next year so that there is more information on them. The issue with river maintenance is who should pay and then what if they tried to lay the blame on farmers. These are going to be two interesting issues spurring lots of debate.

Thanks George. It's a slightly modified kids pedal tractor. It belongs to Matt's FFA Advisor's uncle. He was gracious enough to allow us to use it. We would like to build our own tractor and sled before next year.

Hey George -
got any big plans for Saturday morning? I'll take you out on a hot date if you're not busy. Should be in your neck of the woods by 10:00 am. If you have plans dont worry about it - its not like I'll give you a hard time about it or anything. -JW-

Would it be possible for us to start a "General Discussion" topic? I am interested in starting a discussion about some mechanical questions/issues I have with some of my equipment. Maybe a Q&A section about equipment prices, mechanical tips, service suggestions, likes dislikes, etc.
